Knapp Masonry completes major restoration work at the Ellen Phillips Samuel Memorial Sculpture Garden. Flooding from the Schuylkill River caused major damage to the limestone walls, benches and foundation of the granite steps. Major stone replacement, patching, resetting of the steps and a good cleaning brought the beauty of this place back to life for generations to come!

Knapp Masonry finalizes restoration work at the Peachfield Plantation owned by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Work included restoration of the brick patio, bluestone work, inclusion of a new brick ramp for wheelchair accessibility, improved drainage system for gutters, new cedar fence made to look as original, pointing of the front walkway and a new dry-laid wall to support the ramp.

Limestone piers and arches at entranceway to Rittenhouse Plaza were severely damaged by rust from existing steel structure. Stones are being removed and assessed by architects for patching, repair, or replacement. Reconstruction of the arches will be performed in Spring 2008.
The Trenton Battle Monument, a familiar feature of the Trenton skyline for just over 110 years is getting spruced up! Knapp Masonry is performing a restoration to the base and balcony level. We are repairing all of the joints at the top of the column and at the base. We are also cleaning the base to remove accumulated pollution. The main door is being repaired and the lights are being replaced as well.
During a previous excavation, the foundation of the original State house was discovered. The demarcation shows approximate outline of original foundation.

Lead by Historic Building Architects, Knapp Masonry, with our team of talented contractors have put the finishing touches on Phase II of the restoration of the Historic Derrick Van Veghten House in Somerset County NJ. Work included pointing of all brick elements, full restoration of the windows, trim and interior plaster, ceiling and cornice.
